Message from Smith’s Landing Seafood Grill:

We are getting closer every day. Still don’t have a set opening date but it’s looking like it will be sometime in the first half of August which means it’s time to start interviewing for our staff! Here is some information regarding the qualifications we are looking for to join our team.

SERVER: Potential applicants have superior multi-tasking skills, attention to detail and high standards of service. The qualified candidate is a motivated self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly and ensure smooth service operations and quality service. An upbeat personality with the ability to use suggestive selling techniques to promote the sale of food and beverages is a must.

Qualified individuals MUST have previous experience working in an upscale restaurant and have flexible availability to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends.

ServSafe CA Food handler certification required.

BARTENDER: Qualified individuals will have previous experience working in an upscale restaurant and have flexible availability to work varied shifts.

HOST/HOSTESS: We currently have a need for a host or hostess with a warm, friendly, outgoing personality who exhibits maturity and poise to join our staff. Job description includes working with Yelp Reservations, answering phones, seating guests, making reservations and interacting with the public. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Qualified individuals will have previous experience working in an upscale restaurant for at least one year and have flexible availability to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends approximately 30 hours per week.

BUSSER: Position is responsible for: removing dirty dishes, utensils and trays to the kitchen; removing litter; mopping floors; and setting tables. An individual that is friendly, attentive, and takes pride in their work is a requirement in meeting the expectations of this position. Qualified candidates will have a pleasant and positive attitude, be committed to exceptional guest service, dependable and cooperative. A willingness to learn and perform our high standards of service is required. Qualified individuals will have previous experience working in an upscale restaurant for at least one year and have flexible availability to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends approximately 30 hours per week. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

LINE COOK: Ability to speak & read English, bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Available to work week nights and weekends.
Knowledge of classic kitchen and the way it works.
At least 1-2 years experience in a fast paced restaurant working multiple line stations.
The ability to handle 250+ covers.Ability to follow recipes and think quickly in stressful situations.
Creative and able to produce top notch plating.
Food Handlers Certification or ServSafe Cert.
