Antioch Neighbors,
NEW EMERGENCY STAY AT HOME ORDER
Today Contra Costa County and the six Bay Area Counties issued a new stay at home order effective today through May 3, 2020. The purpose of this order is to slow the spread of COVID-19 to save lives and give our healthcare personnel time to ramp up emergency efforts in area hospitals.
There are some new guidelines for today’s order, including the mandatory closing of playgrounds, sports facilities, golf courses, dog parks and additional non-essential businesses. For a copy of this new order and guidelines, please CLICK HERE.
HOW TO APPLY FOR UNEMPLOYMENT
If you are out of work due to COVID-19 shut-downs, CLICK HERE for information on how to apply for Unemployment. Finances are tight for many residents – parents who need to stay home to care for children or an at-risk family member may also qualify for financial assistance.
LOANS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES
If you own a small business, or know someone who does, you may be eligible for a small business loan to keep your business going. In some cases, if employees are kept on the payroll, some of these loans may be forgiven. CLICK HERE for a fact sheet on the process of applying for a COVID-19 small business loan. Small businesses are the cornerstone of our community – and the City of Antioch will do EVERYTHING possible to keep our small businesses alive during this challenging time.
I will keep you updated when there is more information on the COVID-19 virus and how to keep our families safe. In the meantime, please stay home, stay safe and healthy!
