Captain Diane Aguinaga of Antioch Police Department Retires after 27 Years of Service

After 27 years of distinguished law enforcement service, Captain Diane Aguinaga will retire on May 4th, 2018.

Captain Aguinaga started her career with the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office in 1991, and was hired by the Antioch Police Department in 1993. She served on the patrol team, as a detective, and was eventually promoted to Police Corporal in 2000. She was then promoted to Police Sergeant in 2002 where she served on patrol and as the Sergeant in the Investigations Bureau.

In 2012, she was promoted to Lieutenant where she then served as the Lieutenant of the Investigations Unit. In 2015, she was promoted to Police Captain in charge of Field Services. As the Captain of Field Services, the position she now holds, she managed the Patrol Division, K9 Unit, Traffic Division, Volunteer in Police Services, Police Explorers, Police Chaplains, Peer Support Team, and Police Reserves. Her commitment to community has been demonstrated time and again through her work and participation with our monthly neighborhood cleanup events.

Over her career, Captain Aguinaga has had an immense impact on the police department and fostered a strong sense of family amongst us. Affectionately referred to as, “Momma D,†by many at the department she will be greatly missed. We wish you well in your much deserved retirement, “Momma D!†Please help us in celebrating such an amazing person.
