Retired-Captain Aguinaga and the Antioch Police Department were recently featured in an Ancestry.com video. The video briefly documents some of the history of the Antioch Police department and the women and men who have served our community in years gone by.
Captain Aguinaga, an avid history buff with an interest in genealogy, came across a large cache of photos, long forgotten in a stack of nondescript boxes in the corner of the police department. Many of the pictures feature historical parts of the city and staff with police vehicles and equipment of the era. Using Ancestry.com, Captain Aguinaga was able to locate and reunite current family members with pictures of their loved ones that served our city, some of whom they’d never met. Through her efforts, our rich history as a police agency and community are on display at the police department. Ancestry.com thought our story so relevant and compelling; they chose to feature us in their video.
