Antioch Free Kids Fishing Derby

This event was made possible through the great partnership between the City of Antioch and the California Striped Bass Association.
The goal of the event is to…
- create stewards for our future fisheries
- show kids what fishing is all about.
Free for all school age children, supplies will be provided but you can bring your own pole.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Join the California Striped Bass Association and the City of Antioch for some old-fashioned fun at the Marina. This event is held in the memory of Antioch resident “Compy” Compomizzo; he inspired the mission statement Get Kids Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs or Gangs. It’s a great opportunity to create stewards for our future fisheries and to introduce children to the benefits of fishing as an individual and family. The Recreation Department will have fishing poles to borrow if your child does not have one.
