Please join us in congratulating Mark Harris, Operations Supervisor on his retirement on December 28, 2018, after an impressive 32 years of dedicated service to the City of Antioch. Mark is a life long Antioch resident. He began his career with the Antioch Unified School District and in 1987 joined the City of Antioch as a Park Maintenance Worker and promoted to Park Maintenance Lead-worker in 1992. In this role, Mark was responsible for landscape maintenance in our City parks, medians, and rights of way. During the recession, Mark expanded his role and stepped up to ensure Public Works continued to operate its various services to the public. In 2015, Mark was promoted to Operations Supervisor overseeing Street Maintenance, the Marina operations, and Landscape Maintenance operations citywide.
Mark also managed labor resources from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program. All of us at Public Works have benefited from Mark’s dedication, vast institutional knowledge of Public Works and historical knowledge of our City. Please join us in wishing Mark a very well deserved and happy retirement!
