On Saturday, we were not only able to once again do our annual holiday food drive, but also our annual “adopt-a-family,” event. As usual, we would never be able to do either of these events without the generous donations of so many local businesses, White Pony Express, and everyone that helped to come together and volunteer their time to provide a little extra help to those in need.
In addition to providing 105 families a holiday meal, we were able to “adopt,” 8 families as well as providing toys(toys were collected during #givingtuesday) to every child that came with their family to pick up food at the police department. We were humbled and happy to provide some smiles for the holidays, and thank everyone in this wonderful community that helped make it possible!
Giving Tuesday
#GivingTuesday takes place on the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving, which coincides with the time of year when many donors give to worthy causes. The Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday — has become an international day of giving and an opportunity to support your community.
This year for Giving Tuesday, we had members of our SWAT team, Investigations Bureau, and Dispatchers at Target (5769 Lone Tree Way, Antioch) from 1:00-3:00 pm filling up our Rescue Vehicle with new, unwrapped gifts for those less fortunate this holiday season. A big “Thank You” to our community for being so giving. The Rescue vehicle was packed with toys that will be donated to children in our community. We will be at Target from 1:00-3:00 pm, on November 27.
