Mike’s Auto Body continues their holiday tradition for the 18th year in a row. The Benevolence Program is a collaborative effort between the community, local parts companies, insurance companies and the heart, sweat and labor of Mike’s Auto Body Employees. This program has brought holiday magic to 79 local community members in need.
This year’s event took place on December 12th at Mike’s Auto Body located in Antioch. Community members gathered to celebrate the 5 individuals that received cars. But that wasn’t all, each vehicle came with a trunk filled with gifts, such as toys, bikes and gift certificates.
Message from Mike Auto Body
Each year the collision repair industry as a whole comes across cars that are “written off†by either the owner or the insurance company. Often times these are older vehicles that just need some mechanical and body work to get them back on the road and perfectly safe to drive. Because we believe these cars are going to waste when there are people who really need them, we decided to do something about it.
Mike’s Auto Body’s Benevolence Program is a community relations program designed to generate good will at the local level while improving and promoting the image of the collision repair industry whose mission is to Present refurbished “new†used cars to deserving individuals or organizations during the holiday season.
Mike’s Auto Body will present a vehicle on October 26th, 2018 to a deserving family. Over the last 17 years, Mike’s Auto Body has presented a total of 72 cars to deserving families and non-profit organizations. October’s presentation will be the first of three Benevolence Presentations, Vallejo, Fairfield and Antioch which will bring the total to 79 cars in 2018. This will be Mike’s 18th year participating in the program “It has been so rewarding over the last 17 years presenting the cars to deserving individuals and organizations who are working to improve their skills and become independent.†Everything is DONATED, the cars, parts, paint, mechanical inspections, tires, and one year of insurance. The body and paint technicians donate their time and talents. We are fortunate to have our Insurance and Car Rental business partners participating again this year by donating a “written off†vehicle that will be given away to a deserving family.
“We feel very fortunate to be involved with such a wonderful program and are very excited to be able to give back to the communities that has supported us for the past 46 years. Being in this business for that long, repairing the vehicles is the easy part, having to decide on a recipient is the part that’s hard. After receiving hundreds of applications over the years and reading the heart breaking stores, we only wish that we could do more. But hopefully with increased publicity of our Benevolence Program other shops will adopt a similar program of their own.†– Mike Rose
Our Benevolence Presentation is part of our Vallejo’s Grand Opening celebration set for Friday, October 26th, 1:00pm at Mike’s Auto Body, 3211 Sonoma Blvd., Vallejo CA 94590. Everyone who touches the cars will be invited to the presentation to witness the true meaning of the “Community Give Back Spirit.â€
