Fall Dance Recital
On Saturday, the Fall Dance Recital took place at the Nick Rodriguez Community Center for the first time. Ballerinas, hip hoppers, princess dancers, tiaras & tutus and pre-school dancers performed on a stage for the first time ever. The Theater was overflowing with parents, grandparents and siblings! Everyone was all smiles and at the end of the recital all the dancers learned how to bow before the audience. Look for more performances next year.
Gone Fishin’
Last Friday, Recreation staff led a group of outgoing seniors on a field trip to the Contra Loma Regional Park and Reservoir hosted by East Bay Regional Parks District. It was a day of fishing and fun supervised by EBRPD staff who waived fishing license requirements for all citizens who attended. They provided fishing poles, bait, gear, lines and stocked the reservoir full of fish much to the delight of all the participants. Many people took home several rainbow trout of varying sizes. Lawn games and music completed the wonderful amenities accompanied by a hot dog lunch with beverages. The field trip was a huge success and allowed seniors from different communities to come together to socialize and spend time outdoors.
