The City is moving right along with the maintenance and repair of its 32 parks and park amenities; we hope everyone has ventured out to enjoy our neighborhood parks. If not, this week’s invitation will surely entice you as we tell you about Chichibu Park. This park is named after our sister city Chichibu, Japan and features beautiful architectural monuments gifted by our sister city.Chichibu Park is located at Longview Road and Acorn Drive situated on over six acres in the neighborhood next to Sutter Elementary School. In addition to the interesting monuments, you will find the following amenities available for your use:
- Lighted Tennis Courts
- Horse Shoe Pits
- Group Picnic Area
- BBQ Area with a Covered Gazebo
- Play Structures – Large and Small
- Rose Garden
Earlier this week, crews painted the exterior walls of the restrooms sprucing the place up. We endeavor to do our best to target necessary improvements, conduct needed maintenance and repairs, and install new equipment. If you see any of the amenities in need of paint, repair or graffiti removal, please do not hesitate to notify us.
Summer is growing season and the time to tackle the landscaped medians and rights of way throughout the City. This week contracted crews completed work on the Contra Loma Boulevard and Deer Valley Road medians and next week they will continue trimming the landscaping and litter removal on the medians and rights of way in the following areas:
- Hillcrest Avenue ROWs
- Somersville Road Medians
- Almondridge Area / Wilson St.
- Buchanan Road Medians
- Deer Valley Road Rights of Way
