The Antioch Unified School District partnered with the Antioch Parks and Recreation Department to create an impactful MLK Day of Service. In a remarkable collaboration, students joined local artist Hermain Ambriz to paint a special mural, marking the celebration of Mission Elementary’s 50th Anniversary. Additionally, the Antioch High School orchestra provided entertainment, and Interact students actively shared perspectives and stories about the Civil Rights leader with elder residents at the Nick Rodriguez Community Center. This outstanding collaboration not only commemorated a special day but also nurtured a meaningful connection between generations.
